What a useful message contains

We read correspondence about the publication. A message that says which page and which sentence it concerns is easier to act on than a description of a room alone. We cannot turn a room description into a specification.

For a correction

  • The page address or the title of the sheet.
  • The sentence you think is wrong, and what you think it should say.
  • A source we can read, if you have one: a maker’s leaflet, a standard, a public guidance page.

For an access problem

  • The page, the device, and the browser if you know them.
  • What you were trying to do, and what happened instead.
  • Send this one to help@attorneyatworkweekly.com, which is the accessibility inbox.

Post reaches attorneyatworkweekly at 162 Tufnell Pk Rd, London N7 0EE. The telephone, +44 20 7267 0163, is the same office. Please do not send payment, card details, or copies of identity documents. There is nothing on this site to pay for. If someone contacts you claiming to arrange installation under this name, that is not this publication. Check the address above and the three inboxes before you reply to them.

We do not publish a response time, because the site is a publication rather than a helpdesk with a service level. Editorial mail is read for corrections and for questions about the text. Mail that asks us to visit, to quote, or to choose a fixing will be declined with a pointer back to the relevant sheet and the disclaimer.

The address is for correspondence

162 Tufnell Pk Rd, London N7 0EE, is where post for attorneyatworkweekly is received. It is not a showroom, a trade counter, or a place to drop off a carton. There is no waiting room and no diary of visits. If you are nearby and the question can be written, write it. A telephone call reaches the same publication, on +44 20 7267 0163, and the person who answers can talk about the pages. They cannot book a fitter, take a card payment, or agree to attend an address.

Put the publication name on the envelope. A letter with no page title and no return address is hard to connect to a correction. Email is the better route for anything that refers to a sentence on the site, because you can paste the sentence. Post is appropriate for a short letter about the publication itself.

Write this, and leave the rest out

  • Which page you read, and the sentence if you are correcting one.
  • Your own return address only if you want a reply by post.
  • Do not include measurements of your home if you want us to “check” them. We will not.
  • Do not include photographs of a wall and ask what fixing to use.
  • Do not include bank details. Nothing on the site is for sale.
